SWEAT app review: I’ve been using this app for the past decade, and here’s why I think it’s the best workout app for women


If you’re traveling, heading to a location with limited service, or simply want to avoid interruptions, it’s a good idea to download a few favorite workouts in advance. That way, you’ll have options ready to go, whether you have internet access or not, keeping your routine consistent no matter where you are. Strength

Can you do personal training through workout apps?

They offer different types of diets available whether you are vegan, vegetarian, etc.

Kayla Itsines High intensity zero equipment program is such a good one as well. However, I regularly travel, and sometimes when I’m away or busy with work I don’t make it to the gym as often as I’d like. As a result, I’m trying to incorporate more home workouts into my routine. In lieu of a coach and guided workouts at the gym, I decided to try the workout app Sweat created by the personal trainer Kayla Itsines, who also posts workouts online to more than 16 million Instagram followers. The SWEAT app officially launched in 2017, but co-founder and head trainer Kayla Itsines had already built a strong following with her highly sought-after digital workouts and programs.

Music from your favorite artists

Decide what room or outdoor area would work best – perhaps your lounge room, garage or a spare bedroom. The Sweat app is a personal training app that offers broad suite of challenging, yet achievable programs with workouts you can do anywhere, anytime to build your fitness. Different workout apps will provide different levels of tracking for workouts.

Workout: Upper-body strength training

An avid runner, Jane has tested and reviewed fitness products for the past five years, so she knows what to look for when finding a good running watch or a pair of shorts with pockets big enough for your smartphone. There are a few mobility plans in there, but nearly all of the programs are focused on strength training, using your body weight, dumbbells, garage gym, full gym, or any other type of equipment you have access to. When choosing a plan, you can easily filter the programs based on your training goals, experience level, desired number of days per week, and equipment access. ClassPass rose to fame in the world of fitness apps by offering an easy way to book classes at your favorite fitness studios. You can still do that with a variety of paid plans, but the app now also offers a library of more than 4,000 classes you can stream at home any time—for free. As its name might suggest, this app offers a variety of suspension training workouts led by virtual coaches.

Best workout app for women

  • Another good workout tracker is Hevy, which has a robust community of support where you can share your workouts and view, like and comment on others’ workouts.

The ability to pause, skip, or swap exercises directly on the watch makes workouts manageable even if life interrupts your session. You can also mirror workouts to a TV if you prefer a larger display. It might not satisfy someone looking for fully tailored meal plans, but it gives plenty of ideas to complement your workouts, eat well, and enjoy your food along the way. SWEAT occasionally offers discounts around Black Friday and New Year’s, but this isn’t to say the app won’t promote similar offers other times around the year. Workouts for the gym, home, or on the go

If you have an Apple Watch, the app makes it convenient to access it and view your metrics on the smartwatch during your workouts as well. If you own an iPhone, it’s a no-brainer to sign up for a workout app that is already built into your smartphone and allows you to work out anywhere. I tested the most popular workout apps to help you find the ones worth the cost–some are even free. Below are some apps to consider if you’re looking to move intentionally. You can follow your own route or explore Strava’s massive network of roads and trails, built by millions of athletes worldwide. “The mapping tool makes it easier than ever to plan runs and workouts in advance, especially when following a training plan with specific distances and paces,” one runner noted.

What equipment you’ll need (if any) is also listed so you can make sure you have access to everything beforehand. There are workouts for no equipment, if you don’t have any, and workouts that you’re able to use in the gym with strength training equipment like cable machines, barbells, dumbbells, and more. There currently aren’t any workouts available on cardio machines like treadmills or exercise bikes, unlike other popular fitness platforms like Peloton and iFit. Although, you can take workouts with Kayla Itsines on iFit – more on this later. Other Interactive Features

If you’re working out with the Sweat app, you can also use the “My Equipment” feature to make sure you’re only shown movements that use the equipment you have. The free version does have one major limitation if you’re trying to get off the beaten path, though. The app only works in areas with cell service; to be able to download a trail route for offline use, you’ll need the pro version of AllTrails. “This is helpful (and critical, I’d argue) if you’re in the backcountry with questionable cell service, especially if you don’t have any other navigational tools or are unfamiliar with the area,” Amanda argues. Amanda tested the app and says, “This is a fun app—very fun if you like CrossFit. Provided by Under Armour, Map My Fitness is easy to set up and sync with other apps and devices, like Garmin, Apple Health, UA connected footwear, MyFitnessPal, and others.
